Buffering
Living with a rare disease can be a minefield of emotions. Constant appointments, false hopes, and setbacks becoming commonplace, with many never recieving a diagnosis. This is known as the “Diagnostic Odyssey” where patients feel lost in a neverending cycle.
Our campaign plays heavily on the “Diagnostic Odyssey”, utilising a dotted buffering wheel as a symbol of frustration that represents the space that patients and healthcare professionals find themselves in pre-diagnosis. A rare disease patient that also works in healthcare tells us her story with sincere emotion before the interruption takes over. We encourage viewers to learn more about rare diseases and how to support those stuck in the “Diagnostic Odyssey”.
